Born out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Luminous is a local favorite as well as a national touring band appearing at various festivals such as Big Ticket Festival, Dirt Fest, and Creation Fest. Bringing back the old-school sounds of punk with a flavor of raw grunge, The Luminous combines positive and purpose driven lyrics with gut punching musical energy.
This upcoming band consists of three young working class musicians with obscene hair dos: Jacob Ritchie on lead vocals and lead guitar; John Harag on bass guitar and backing vocals; and Dan Reitmeyer on drums and percussion.
The Luminous completed their first mastered and self recorded demo in May of 2008 which has been cleverly titled “The Luminous EP”. It consists of 5-tracks out their catalog of original music and lyrics. While on the road, Jacob, Dan and John continuously collaborate to create new music for a full length album in the future.
